Understanding the science of conscious breathing.
Practicing Pranayama brings about tremendous benefits such as increased energy, increased perception and development of various brain faculties. Through this program you will be able to understand how breathing can be used as the most powerful tool for achieving mental balance and manage stress. In essence, Pranayam is the basis for spiritual awakening in yoga and helps to bring you close to realizing the Self.

Upanishads describe Pranayama as the “royal path to prosperity, freedom and bliss”. Pranayama is the science of conscious breathing. Breathing is what keeps us alive. There is an irrefutable link of the breath and mind. Observing and refining your breath is the easiest way to start a mindful practice in yoga. Pranayama is the basis of Spiritual Awakening – opening the doorway to our consciousness.
But even though breath is the most important physiological function of the body, because it’s automatic, we have become so insensitive to it.
(Human beings breathe about 15 times per minute and 21,600 times per day. Breathing is the only physiological function that is both involuntary (it goes on by itself) and voluntary (we can control our respiration consciously))
Breathing has a deep impact on our mind, body and emotions. Just watching one’s breathing during moments of happiness, excitement, anger, tension, etc. will make us realize how breathing impacts us. And by reversing the process, that is, breathing in that particular pattern can resulting in perfect control over our mind, body and emotions.
In this retreat we will explore the deeper role of Prana (life force) in the body. We will also explore the connection between prana and awakening our dormant energy.
The yogic technique of Pranayama provides the method through which Prana can be activated and regulated in order to go beyond one’s normal boundaries or limitations and attain a higher state of vibratory energy.
